Hi and welcome to sketch challenge #8

For this challenge you're going to get to re-design your character of choice into a steampunk version! It can be a character from any game, movie or tv series. If you are doing this for a Rage image I would suggest going for a gaming Character!

I'm going to guess that's Alex Mecer(sp?) from Prototype.

Ah I only read "make steam punk game character" and started to draw. I wasn't really specific, you'll find him in a hack and slash game

To the point, however, this looks very interesting, and I have a question, if I may:

You mention that we may use a character from any game, movie or TV series, but may we use webcomic characters?

Aaw, you mean that I don't get to add up the votes from all of my entries and use that as a total number of votes for ranking?

So, here are my entries.

The first is Johari from Quest for Glory 3.


In the original, I believe, she was a woman of the Leopardman tribe, and daughter of the chief of that tribe.  As the name suggests, the people of the Leopardman tribe were shapeshifters, taking on a part-leopard form for various purposes.  They were also skilled practitioners of magic, and Johari teaches the Lightning Ball spell to magically-capable players.

The container on her chest in this version contains quintessence, which I feel provides a nice steampunkish source of magic, and provides the heat source for her boiler (just visible over her shoulder).

The second is Duane Adelier, from the webcomic Unsounded.


In the webcomic, as I recall, he is a skilled spell-wright, a fearsome combatant, and given to sequipedalian loquaciousness.  He is also undead - and this is a strange thing, because the corporeal undead in this setting are almost uniformly mindless things, used as menial labour.  That Duane somehow retains his consciousness is one of the mysteries of the story thus far.

As with Johari above, this version of Duane carries containers of quintessence to power his magic and provide heat for his steam-boiler.  As to where that last is, consider first the trail escaping his hood, and the benefits of having a large empty space in what once were his abdominal and chest cavities...

In case it's not clear, he here wears a mask over his face, where the original uses glamours to hide his true appearance.
